KIOF 97.9 FM sees an increase of over 500% on it's Internet Streams in July

LAS VEGAS (LVPR) - After rolling out it's new website to the general public over the Independence Day holiday, KIOF 97.9 FM has seen an increase of over 500% from the previous month in listeners who are tuning in to listen from the Internet. This is a dramatic increase for the radio station and there have been numerous reports from listeners around the world that they are unable to hear anything when they press the Play button to listen to the radio station online. This has been tracked to numerous server crashes at certain times which have occured since rolling out the new website. The radio station is working to resolve those problems by installing new servers during the month of August.

If you're experiencing these problems trying to listen to any of the Internet streams (i.e. West and West-Rem1-West-Rem4), we ask that you keep trying the Primary until the new servers are in place at the radio station. As an alternative, you may also use apps like Tune-In, Radio.Net or Roku boxes to pick up the streams.

The radio station is also working to resolve other issues around new accounts and system bugs on the new website around the thousands of visitors who visit the website daily to look for the latest things happening here in the Las Vegas, Nevada valley.

With the addition of the new Search feature on the website, the ability to search on past KIOF Local News as well as News from Business Wire was also impacted during the initial website rollout earlier this month.

The staff of KIOF 97.9 FM / Las Vegas Public Radio appreciate your understanding during this transition as we expand our systems to provide you a better listening experience every day whether your listening on the dial here in the Las Vegas, Nevada valley or through the online Internet streams.
